Preschool Program
Our preschool program includes children ages 3-5 in a play-based curriculum from 8:30am-2:00pm, Monday through Friday during the school year. Students engage in activities that are aligned with Pennsylvania's Early Learning Standards. These standards are research-based according to age and development. Students explore language and literacy, mathematical thinking and expression, scientific thinking and technology, social studies thinking, creative thinking and expression, health, wellness, and physical development, and social/emotional development. Our little learners have the opportunity to explore campus activities as we partner with music education, physical education, dance, and several of SRU's clubs.
Our program continues throughout the summer months for little learners in child care. Field trips, water days, and exploring in the sunshine are part of the agenda.
School Age Program
Our school age program includes children ages 6-12 in before and after school care, Monday through Friday during the school year. Students are transported to and from Slippery Rock Area Elementary by a school district bus. After school care includes a snack, indoor and outdoor activities, homework help, and the opportunity to participate in programs as we partner with music education, physical education, dance, and several of SRU's clubs.
Our program continues throughout the summer months for school age learners in child care. Field trips, swimming, days spent at SRU's ARC facility, tennis, and participating in several activities hosted by the University and/or community are included on the summer agenda.
